The Drumchapel High School Chess Club has been running for several years now and has been attracting quite a number of pupils over the years, some of which have been attending faithfully since the club started up. Some of members started as beginners or near beginners, but have achieved a good level of expertise over the years.

The chess club is mainly run by Mr Clements and Mr Brausch, with a number of other teaching staff having helped out over the years.  Mr Clements in particular has given the pupils valuable advice in their game, being a former championship player himself.
