BUSINESS STUDIES DEPARTMENT COURSE Higher Still Business ManagementDESCRIPTION Business and enterprise are at the heart of national prosperity and growth, and this is reflected in the extension of business education into schools which began in the 1960's This course is not vocational training;Â it does not teach you how to be an accountant or marketing manager. What it does is give you an idea of the knowledge and range of skills which are required by managers and therefore an insight into what a career in management might involve. It should enable you to see management as a process of decision making, planning, problem solving and review. The course focuses on the functional areas of business decisions, in the context both of organisations and society. In addition, the course emphasises the increasing role that information technology plays in business activity.
